This month, Vantage Roofing was featured in a package on ITV News! We were thrilled when we were asked to participate and our roofing contractors in the North East couldn’t wait to show the region exactly what we can do.

How did it happen?

Our director, Our Former Director, was approached by the team at ITV Tyne Tees to be interviewed for a package the team were producing about the impact of the recent extreme weather conditions on our homes. As we all know, earlier this year we were hit with a flurry of storms, which had a devastating impact on our infrastructure. Our Former Director had previously appeared on BBC Radio Newcastle discussing the same issue and giving advice to members of the public who were still trying to recover.

What was the filming process like?

ITV came out to film the content they needed for their broadcast a week before the production actually went on air. One reporter arrived at our Blackhall office, camera in hand and ready to go. Of course, our videographer and photographer, Michael, was on hand to capture plenty of behind the scenes footage.

The reporters interview with Our Former Director lasted around 6 minutes, allowing Our Former Director plenty of time to discuss the impact of the weather, as well as give out advice for homeowners about what action they should take in the event of their own home being damaged, as well advice on roof maintenance and, of course, the importance of a free roof health check.

The night of the broadcast

After filming had concluded, Our Former Director was given an approximate date to expect the package to run. While we were told that this could change, depending on scheduling conflicts, we were told to expect to see Vantage Roofing on ITV News Tyne and Wear on Wednesday 16th March, during the Regional News Programme at 6pm.

All of our hardworking roofers sat down with their families to watch the moment that their office and their director would appear before the region, singing the praises of their hard work, and making sure every homeowner in the North East knew what to do in the event that their roof was damaged in a storm.

What happened next?

After the broadcast had concluded, we were finally able to post Michael’s behind the scenes footage, including Our Former Director’s extended interview, onto our social media pages. We have been thrilled by the kind response from everyone who tuned in, or caught the story on social media.
