Is there a problem with your home’s roof? As a company based in North East England, we know what kind of damage the local weather can potentially wreak on your roof — whether you reside as far north as Berwick-upon-Tweed, somewhere close to the Newcastle area, or as far south as Teesside.

However, when your roof needs to be repaired or replaced, it’s crucial that you assign this work to the right person. So, how can you sort trustworthy roofers from pesky ‘cowboy’ tradespeople?

Beware any roofers who knock on your door uninvited

Roofing Today warns that such people are responsible for the “most common roofing scams”. Someone who turns up at your door might explain that they have noticed a problem with the roof and offer to inspect it for free.

If you do take up this offer, the roofer will later claim to be able to repair your roof straight away on the condition that you pay upfront in cash for the service.

TraderScams explains that “needless to say when you hand over the money, they’re likely to disappear without any work being carried out”, or at least any work of a good standard.

Look for a high-profile, easily traceable company

If you have lived in the North East for a while, you might have actually spotted some of our vans, emblazoned with our logo and white, blue and red branding colours, from time to time.

Such vehicles are just one indicator of our professionalism, as a rogue roofer can be inclined to drive to jobs in a plain van devoid of any corporate logo. This suspicious behaviour can be a warning sign that the trader operates under a number of names to help themselves elude police detection. Our roofers Newcastle homeowners rely on will not disappoint!

Approach roofers who prioritise transparency

Genuinely reliable roofers will make themselves easy to contact. Whether you arrange to meet up with Vantage roofers in Whitley Bay, Chester-le-Street, Middlesbrough or anywhere else in the region, you will be able to reach out to us even after we have finished the roofing work and returned home.

With more than three decades of roofing experience under our belts, we are dedicated to ensuring that we surpass your expectations. Nonetheless, whether you will be making your first-ever enquiry with us or arranging follow-up roofing work instead, you can call us on 0191 497 8980.

Find the right roofer for your specific requirements

When you get in touch with us, you should be honest and open about those requirements so that we can match you with those members of our team best qualified to excel with the particular roofing work you are requesting.

For example, if your pitched roof is falling apart, would you like it to be replaced with a new pitched roof or instead a different type of roof, e.g. a flat roof?

On the other hand, maybe there’s nothing technically wrong with your existing roof, but you are keen on adding Velux windows to it? With our large team of roofers, we cover many different bases.
